We are heartbroken for these victims and their families. We are angry that “thoughts and prayers” are offered but action to prevent gun violence, which disproportionately affects BIPOC, is not.

Especially in the wake of the racist mass shooting in Buffalo, NY that took 10 lives and injured three more this past weekend, it remains important to call for the eradication of the anti-Blackness that permeates globally. The Asian American and Black communities have a history of solidarity to build on. Working together, we can build true racial solidarity and move all communities closer to equity.
