Data Coordinator Consultant, Racial Equity Tools

Location: 100% Remote (US)
Compensation: $1,000.00 retainer per month (20 hours per month)

About the Role

Equity In The Center® (EIC) seeks a Data Coordinator Consultant to assist with data preparation for Racial Equity Tools’ bi-monthly newsletter. RET is used broadly across the social sector as one the best sources for racial equity tools and resources field-wide. This position is an exciting opportunity to advance racial equity and justice. The ideal candidate excels in managing data, and assisting in the creation and dissemination of bi-monthly newsletters. Familiarity with digital tools and platforms (including Wix, Excel, and Google Sheets), as well as a commitment to racial equity, are essential for this position.

The ideal consultant will be a skilled project coordinator with experience working with small to medium-sized teams. They will be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, meticulous, and are able to work both independently and with a team. Moreover, given that Equity In The Center is a start-up, they should be direct in addressing challenges as they arise and comfortable navigating ambiguity. Being flexible, warm, adaptable, generous with others’ questions, and able to show grace to themselves and others as the team learns and grows together is critical. Lastly, they should be able to thrive in a virtual work environment, enjoy working independently, and demonstrate the ability to nurture trusting work relationships.

The Data Coordinator Consultant must demonstrate the ability to learn and understand various systems using Excel, Google Docs and different components of Wix. They must effectively collaborate with a team to update the resource database on Wix and ensure data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare 100–170 curated resource entries 6 to 8 times annually, adhering to established procedures, using Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
  • Update resource database with new entries and revisions, paying meticulous attention to detail (including de-duplicating and categorizing new resources).
  • Input resource data into Wix, the RET content management system, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Essential Skills

  • Capacity to identify and address issues related to data accuracy and website functionality.
  • Curious on understanding the site’s structure and creative in identifying avenues to improve processes.
  • Previous experience managing online resources or databases.
  • Experience with data entry and preparing data for upload on a website.
  • Comfortable working with content management systems and web technologies (on Wix).
  • Clear, timely and effective communication with team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to “learn by doing” and navigate ambiguity when changes or goal refinements occur.
  • Works well on a team, responsive to feedback, and open to learning.

Compensation

This is a part-time, 1099 consultant role at 20 hours per month. $1,000.00 per month retainer. This position is not eligible for health or fringe benefits.
